Depicting one of Africas big five
The elusive but strikingly beautiful African Leopard, depicted in a larger than life, highly detailed painting
Panthera Pardus | Leopard
Using acrylic on linen panel, Zoe has created a portrait of a beautiful female leopard. The African leopard possesses a striking coat pattern of rosettes, which allows it to camouflage within its diverse habitats, ranging from dense forests to open grasslands. This solitary and nocturnal predator is highly skilled in climbing trees, often carrying its prey to safety or hiding it from scavengers.
Sadly, the African leopard faces threats such as habitat loss, illegal hunting, and conflict with humans, making conservation efforts vital to protect this iconic species and ensure its survival for future generations. A portion of the proceeds of this painting have gone to aid the work of the African Cat Project.
